Erasmus+

The final part of the Erasmus+ course "Nature Benefits from Theory to Practice" took place between June 4 and 6 in a hybrid format with participants present in Zagreb and online. Participants delved deeper into the practical aspects of Ecosystem Services and learned how to develop an Action Plan that could be applied in their daily work. The hands-on approach made the training lively, interesting, and highly practical.

The exchanges between participants and the interactions with the course leaders were very fruitful. These were three intensive workdays that allowed for networking, exchanging best practices, and seeking solutions or different views on issues of common concern.

Nature benefits matter, and the participants have gained more knowledge on how to promote and better argue for their work in nature conservation, protection and restoration while envisioning future plans to achieve specific goals relevant to their jobs.

‘The third module has been an incredible opportunity to participate in a very inspiring, motivational and practical course for implementing the concept of ecosystem services in our daily work. It has been an exciting three day course with international experts to discuss the benefits and challenges of calculating nature benefits and the importance of applying these concepts in nature protection and management’ said Carlotta Maggio from WWF Italy, one of the experts taking part in the course.

We have empowered the students with the concepts, methods, and instruments needed to promote conservation goals while learning how to incorporate nature benefits in their organizational structures or specific current or future projects they are concerned with. This training has provided them with the skills to enhance their work and contribute positively to their communities.

Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiasm and active participation throughout the course! We look forward to seeing the positive impacts of our work in the field of nature conservation.

The TUNE IT story does not end here. The international course is currently being adapted to national needs, and four similar courses are being developed in Belgium and the Netherlands, Croatia, Ukraine, and Turkey to be implemented in the second part of the year.
